What Hasn’t Cryptocurrency Done? To begin with, vehicles, however, that may not be the case for very long. Vehicle maker Ford Motor Company would like to utilize cryptocurrency technology to infiltrate cars so they can communicate with each other when driving.
Ford was awarded a patent that will enable the business to achieve that. The patent has been granted to Ford Global Technologies, LLC, the subsidiary responsible for owning, handling, and commercializing patents and copyrights because of the own parent company Ford Motor.
The patent is for “apparatus and methods” which will ease “vehicle-to-vehicle cooperation to marshal traffic.” Translation: to help lessen traffic congestion.
The procedure will utilize what they’ve called a “Cooperatively Managed Merge and Pass (CMMP) system.” The CMMP program will incorporate cryptocurrency, letting the cars to interact with one another. How? Well, that’s where things get a little more complicated. Here’s a summary.
Participating vehicles are defined as either a customer car or a retailer vehicle. The customer vehicles would be the ones that drive at higher rates in less-occupied traffic lanes plus can merge and move freely when needed. The retailer vehicles willingly occupy lower traffic lanes and permit consumer vehicles to blend in their lanes and move when requested. The CMMP token can be used to authorize the trade of merging and passing. Merchant vehicles receive CMMP tokens from customer vehicles.
The program of the system appears to be the most helpful when someone is running late. They can become a consumer car and request to manoeuvre engaging merchant vehicles so that they can proceed faster through traffic.
